Middle and High School Youth Christmas Plans

The Middle and High School students of Hunter are selecting an angel so
s/he can have a Merry Christmas. On Sunday, December 5th, following worship, we will have Panera for Lunch, shop for our angel, and play Laser Tag. All middle and high school students are welcome to participate!

How badly does your child want to wear PJ's to church?

Hunter children who commit to practice their Christmas Program songs can earn the right to
attend church in their pajamas. That's right. Pajamas. Ohhh...just think how much easier it will
be to get them to church!
If your child can turn in a signed note from a parent or guardian assuring me that s/he has
practiced the Christmas songs at least 12 times between now and December 12 (not including
rehearsals), we will have a special celebration in the Worship in Practice room on Sunday,
December 26, with games, prizes, and goodies. Best of all, we'll do it all in our pj’s.
So keep your Christmas program songs in the car! Between sports practices, school pick ups and drop offs, errand-runs, and music classes, you and your child will be able to master the Christmas Program songs in no time. If you know the tunes to Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bell Rock, Deck the Halls and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, you can help your child learn these songs and earn a very special day at church.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email. Pajama-loving adult helpers on December 26 would be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. Pajama-loving youth members can also join in on the fun by committing to help out at one rehearsal. Non-Pajama-loving adults who wish to donate goodies or inexpensive prizes would earn my undying gratitude. For your convenience, I have printed the words to the songs in the December newsletter which you can find online.
Thank you!

Confirmation Class

Hunter’s Confirmation class for middle-schoolers & up is designed to bridge the gaps between personal doubt, budding faith, and normal youthful questions about authority. Among other things, this class will cover Presbyterian catechism, church history, basic assumptions of Christianity, and guidance on creating their individual statements of faith. Classes start 9:30 a.m. on April 18 and run for 8 weeks, excluding May 16.

Because these classes are so important to the confirmation process, we ask that students commit to attending every class, with a minimum of 7 out of the 8 classes.

Note to Kids - Confirmation classes give you a chance to:
• Make the church a place where you can belong,
• Explore biblical truths,
• Fashion your own faith statement, and
• Figure out what it means to be a member of a church community.
This is YOUR time to ask questions, to challenge yourselves and your faith!

This class depends on student interaction.  Therefore we require a minimum of 3 students in order to proceed.  If enrollment is less than 3, the class will be postponed.
